Humanities and Social Science
It is one of the strands offered in Senior High School. This strand is for learners who intend to take up communication arts, journalism, liberal arts, education and other social science related courses in college for it is a strand focuses on literature, religion, politics, and social sciences.
This HUMSS strand revolves around improving a student’s reading, writing and speaking skills because as some of as knew. People who choose this strand are aspiring to become members of the society who will be dealing with circle of people. Yearning this skills are significant for them to establish effective communication with people when they are working because half of the subjects included in this strand focuses on language and speech.
HUMSS is not an easy strand like some of us thinks. Yes, you won’t have to deal with a lot of reading and comprehension. And this strand.
So for those peace who underestimate HUMSS students, here’s for you:

General Academic Strand
(GAS) can improve your reading, writing and speaking skills. It comprises cool subjects such as Disaster Readiness, Risk Reduction and Organization Management. According to Department of Education (DEPED) Assistant Secretary Elvin T. Uy, the most flexible strand is the GAS because it allow students to try one or two subjects in the STEM, one or two in Technology Vocational and other electives for which the SHS has the facilities and the teachers; although if you want to shift to STEM are not allowed to transfer cause STEM has it’s first specialized subject which is Calculus.
Through this General Academic Strand, the K-12 Curriculum has made provisions for these undecided students that have not yet thought seriously about their future; choose this strand that will be given bridging courses to assess your prepared Ness for the field of study you will choose in the future.

Accountancy Business and Management
If running a business, talking to clients and coming up with strategies that will earn money sounds like your ideal career, then ABM is the right strand for you.
For the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand provided with the skills and knowledge that would help the students to cope the tasks that includes computation in the corporate with word problems. This strand fits the students who want to become a business leaders and entrpreneurs.
